John Kheir, MD is a Cardiac Intensivist at Boston Children’s Hospital. He has developed and tested methods for the intravenous administration of oxygen using gas-filled microparticles. He is now the principal investigator of a lab which is further developing this concept and testing it in a variety of animal models. John earned his BS in Chemistry and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Virginia. A residency in Pediatrics at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital was followed by fellowships in Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine and Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital.
